VOLUNTARY WARRANTIES

Please find below information on voluntary warranties available for selected products.

The following warranties constitute a voluntary service provided by Freudenberg Home & Cleaning Solutions Limited, 2 Chichester Street, Rochdale, OL16 2AX, United Kingdom and may be claimed as set out below.

Freudenberg Home & Cleaning Solutions Limited offers warranties of varying durations (2, 3, or 5 years) within its range of clothes airers, rotary dryers, ironing boards, floor cleaning tools and electrical cleaning appliances. For products purchased through the online shop, the warranty period begins on the date the respective product is received. For products purchased in store, the warranty period begins on the date of purchase. For the applicable warranty period, Freudenberg Home & Cleaning Solutions Limited guarantees that the product is free from defects in materials and workmanship.

The warranty period applicable to a specific product can be found on the respective product page in the online shop, in the user manual, or on the product packaging.

This warranty is valid and enforceable only within United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland) and the Republic of Ireland. The warranty does not cover:

• Routine maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear.  

• Consumables (components that are expected to require periodic replacement during the product's lifetime, such as ironing board covers, cleaning pads, filters, rollers, wheels, sock holders, protection covers, and rubber blades).
• Damage or defects caused by improper use, operation, or handling of the product that is incompatible with its intended personal or household use (e.g., impacts, collisions, drops, etc.).  
• Damage to, or deterioration in, the condition or performance of the product resulting from:  

• Misuse, including but not limited to:  
  • • use resulting in physical, cosmetic, or functional damage to the product or its deterioration;  
    • use of the product for purposes other than those for which it was designed;  
    • failure to assemble the product in accordance with Vileda's instructions;  
    • failure to maintain, care for, or store the product in accordance with Vileda's instructions;  
    • installation or use of the product in a manner inconsistent with applicable safety regulations or technical standards in the country where it is installed or used;  
• Use of the product with accessories, peripheral equipment, or other products of a type, condition, or specification other than those prescribed by Vileda;  

• Repair or attempted repair by persons other than Vileda or members of Vileda's authorized service network;  

• Accidents, fire, liquids, chemicals, other substances, flooding, vibration, excessive heat, inadequate ventilation, power surges, excessive or incorrect supply voltage, radiation, electrostatic discharge (including lightning), or other external forces or impacts; or  

• Any event or circumstance beyond Vileda's reasonable control, including force majeure.  

Any warranty claim must be reported promptly after the defect occurs and within the applicable warranty period. Warranty claims may be submitted either to the retailer from whom the product was purchased or directly to Freudenberg Home & Cleaning Solutions Limited at the following address:

Warranty services will be provided only if proof of purchase is submitted, together with the defective product, during the Warranty Period.  

Vileda may refuse warranty service, free of charge, if these documents are not presented or if they are incomplete or illegible.

This warranty shall not apply if the product's model name or serial number has been altered, erased, removed, or rendered illegible

In the event of a valid warranty claim, Freudenberg Home & Cleaning Solutions Limited will, at its sole discretion, either repair the defective product or replace it. If repair is not possible and an identical replacement product is no longer available, Freudenberg Home & Cleaning Solutions Limited reserves the right to provide an equivalent product as a replacement. The warranty does not entitle the customer to a refund of the purchase price. Nor does a warranty claim give rise to any claim for damages.

If Vileda or a member of its authorized service network performs a diagnostic test on the product and that test demonstrates that the product is functioning correctly and is free from defects, the consumer shall not be entitled to repair under this warranty. In such a case, the consumer shall be responsible for the cost of any repair required to rectify the reported defect, as well as the cost of the diagnostic test. 

Vileda shall not be liable for any damage resulting from improper use of the product.

Unless otherwise provided in this warranty, Vileda's liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the product.

Nothing in this warranty is intended to restrict or limit Vileda's liability where such limitation would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by Vileda's negligence, or for damage to private property caused by products proven to be defective while in use by the consumer as a result of Vileda's negligence.

APPLIES TO LAUNDRY PRODUCTS WITH A 5 YEAR GUARANTEE*

A. SCOPE

1. Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions LTD (“FHCS”) guarantees to the purchaser or owner of the product (in each case, “You”) that the product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five years from the date of purchase (“the Guarantee Period”).

2. If the product becomes faulty for any reason for which FHCS is responsible during the Guarantee Period, FHCS will repair or replace it, or arrange for it to be repaired or replaced, subject to the Terms and Exclusions and Limitations below. The repair of the products may include the replacement of defective products or parts with new or refurbished products or parts, in which event all products and parts replaced become the property of FHCS.

B. TERMS

1. In order to make a claim under this Guarantee, you must present the original invoice or sales receipt (indicating the date of purchase, model name and dealer's name) together with the defective product before the end of the Guarantee Period. FHCS shall not be obliged to honour the guarantee if these documents are not presented or if they are incomplete or illegible. This Guarantee will not apply if the model name or serial number on the product has been altered, deleted, removed or made illegible.

2. Except where FHCS has a legal duty to reimburse them, this Guarantee does not cover transport costs or any other costs, losses, expenses or liability associated with the transportation of the product to and from FHCS.

3. If FHCS or its authorised representative carries out a diagnostic test on the product and that test demonstrates that the product is working properly and no hardware fault is present, you will not be entitled to any repair or replacement under this Guarantee. In that event, you will be liable to pay for any repairs necessary to rectify the defect and the cost of the diagnostic test.

C. EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS

1. Except as stated above, FHCS makes no guarantee (express, implied, statutory or otherwise) regarding the quality, performance, accuracy, reliability or fitness for a particular purpose or otherwise of the product.

2. Nothing in this Guarantee is intended to restrict FHCS’s liability for death, personal injury or damage to private property caused by the goods proving to be defective whilst in your use as a result of FHCS’s negligence.

3. This Guarantee does not cover:

1. 1. ironing board covers or padding;

1. 2. periodic maintenance or repair or parts replacement due to wear and tear;

1. 3. consumables (namely components that are expected to require necessary periodic replacement during the lifetime of a product such as batteries or dirt filters);

1. 4. damage or defects caused by use, operation or treatment of the product inconsistent with normal personal or domestic use; and

1. 5. damage or deterioration in the condition or performance to the product arising as a result of:

1. 1. 1. misuse, including treatment resulting in physical, cosmetic or surface damage to or deterioration in the product;

1. 1. 2. use of the product after FHCS has been informed of an actual or apparent defect;

1. 1. 3. failure to install or use the product for its normal purpose or in accordance with Vileda’s instructions on installation or use;

1. 1. 4. failure to maintain the product in accordance with Vileda’s instructions on maintenance;

1. 1. 5. installation or use of the product in a manner inconsistent with the technical or safety laws or standards in the country where it is installed or used;

1. 1. 6. use of the product with accessories, peripheral equipment and other products of a type, condition and standard other than prescribed by Vileda;

1. 1. 7. repair or attempted repair of the product by persons who have not been appointed or approved in advance by FHCS for such purpose;

1. 1. 8. accidents or the effects of fire, liquids, chemicals, other substances, flooding, vibrations, excessive heat, improper ventilation, power surges, excess or incorrect supply or input voltage, radiation, electrostatic discharges including lighting, other external forces and impacts; or

1. 1. 9. any other event or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of FHCS.

D.   YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS RESERVED

This Guarantee is in addition to and does not affect, your statutory rights in relation to goods that are faulty or not as described.  All products will be provided in accordance with the contract. Further advice relating to your legal rights can be obtained from your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Office. You may assert any rights you have at your sole discretion.

E. YOUR GUARANTOR
