4-COLOUR CODING SYSTEM
This easy system is an established cleaning standard in professional environments like hospitals and restaurants where cross contamination will lead to illness. You would not want to clean your kitchen surfaces with a cloth that has been previously used to clean the toilet seat in the bathroom. This best practice used in hospitals is easy to replicate in your home.
COLOUR CODING CAN BE BROKEN DOWN INTO 4 AREAS
We can recommend the Marigold Let it Shine Microfibre cloths for this
Change Your Mop Refills Regularly
All Vileda Mops are very durable and can be cleaned in the washing machine to remove all dirt and debris.
Looking after our planet is always front of mind, you can wash several mop head refills at the same time, or add to your main wash.
MAXIMUM COMFORT & SAFETY
How Gloves Help: Wearing disposable gloves such as the Marigold Latex Disposable gloves helps during cleaning because it makes you aware of what you are doing with your hands and you are less likely to touch your face with gloved hands.
The usage of disposable gloves are the best choice for cleaning delicate areas (e.g. toilets) or removing unpleasant items (e.g. vomit or dog faeces).
Disposable gloves should then be thrown away straight after use.
CLEAN HANDS AND A CLEAN HOME
The VILEDA Turbo and Ultramax Turbo bucket systems allow for a hand free wring of the mop head.
Your hands stay clean and dry.
REMOVES OVER 99 % OF BACTERIA* WITH WATER
JUST A QUICK WIPE OR DUSTING? THAT'S YESTERDAY'S CLEANING!
VILEDA mop pads are made with microfibres, which consist of millions of tiny synthetic fibres. While you mop your floor, all of these tiny fibres loosen the dirt and physically pick it up – also removing over 99% of bacteria without the use of harsh cleaning chemicals, in fact you get this result from just water alone.
For an even more hygienic home you can still use your favourite cleaning solution as part of your clean with your VILEDA mop:
1 cap of detergent (30ml) is enough for 5 litres of water
If you use a detergent with alcohol (e.g. disinfectant), better use cold water. The alcohol would evaporate in hot water.
VILEDA microfibre mop heads are very durable and can be machine washed.
It’s good to have several mop refills for backup at home. It is best to swap refills frequently and wash all cleaning equipment together.
Special tip: To disinfect large areas simply pour disinfectant directly into the tank of the Vileda 1-2 Spray SprayMop. (dilute according to disinfectant instructions). Its spray head easily accesses and disinfects hard to reach and bacteria-prone areas - e.g. underneath the toilet.
CLEANING WITH A "HORIZONTAL 8"
In order to move all dirt particles towards the centre of the room and to avoid just moving the dirt from one corner to another, move the mop in a flowing movement, just like a horizontal 8.THE BACTERIA KILLER
With no need for chemicals and other cleaning substances that might damage your floors, the VILEDA Steam Cleaner uses the power of steam to kill 99.9% of bacteria and remove other unhygienic residue on your floors. This floor steamer heats up and is ready to use in just 15 seconds.THE RIGHT WAY OF CLEANING – EVERYWHERE
THE RIGHT WAY OF CLEANING – EVERYWHERE
Our hygiene concept will not only save you time, but will keep your home 99% bacteria-free from top to bottom.
Here's the first secret of the concept: "top to bottom" is in itself the perfect cleaning system: Start with ceilings. Then tackle work surfaces, tables and drawers, working your way downwards.
SPECIAL TIPS FOR EACH AREA
BATHROOM
Use separate cleaning cloths for the sanitary area – shower, washbasin, tiles.Wipe doorknobs, light switches and other hand-contact surfaces regularly. A large population of bacteria live here and are easily spread when touched by your hands.
Bacteria loves to multiply in wet rooms. To prevent this wipe each surface dry with separate cleaning cloths or a squeegee right after showering or washing.
TOILET
The toilet should be the last clean, wash your cleaning cloths and thoroughly clean the toilet seat on both sides.Always use gloves to protect your hands
Scrub the toilet rim and interior with the toilet brush.
Frequently contacted areas should be washed more often with a separate cloth: for example the flush button, door handle and toilet brush
KITCHEN
Use separate cleaning cloths for dishes and work surfacesAllow scourers, hand and tea towels to dry thoroughly
Regularly clean the sink, work surfaces, kitchen appliances and door or cabinet handles with warm water
Empty the bin frequently and wash it out with warm water and detergent at least once a week.
Wash your cloths straight after use at 60° C.
Your dish brush can be cleaned by regularly adding to your dishwasher.
HOME OFFICE
In the current world climate, more and more people are working from home. Whether this is short-term or long-term: bacteria multiply frequently on heavily touched hardware such as your desk, laptop or keyboard.Use separate cleaning cloths for work surfaces and hardware.
Remove crumbs and coarse dirt carefully from your computer or laptop keyboard with a vacuum cleaner on a low setting. Gently wipe gaps with cotton wool pads or a toothbrush.
Deep clean the mouse or keyboard with a damp microfibre cloth. Remove stubborn dirt with a damp, but thoroughly wrung cloth.
Remove dust from the monitor with a soft microfibre cloth and wipe away greasy finger marks etc. with a damp microfibre cloth.
Tip: Clean the screen or keyboard with caution, as this sensitive hardware can easily damage.
